Fasting – A Miraculous Benefit

In our country, fasting is a religious tradition observed from East to West and North to South. Along with spirituality, this fast also benefits the body and mind. During the fast, fruits and tubers are eaten. Fasting is majorly done during the month of Shravan and nine-days of Navratri. According to scientific reasons, fasting along with gaining Punya has many benefits for the body and mind.

Get relief from heart disease:

Fasting, at least once a week, relieves heart disease. Fasting keeps blood pressure and cholesterol under control. Because of these two things heart diseases gets developed. Apart from this, it is also beneficial in muscle related diseases. Fasting also reduces the level of triglycerides in the body.

Elimination of toxins from the body:

In consideration of food we eat, it is certain that many toxins develops in our bodies. Eating fast food and unhygienic food depletes the body of nutrients. All the waste in the body is removed, if a weekly fasting is done.

Weight control and good metabolism:

Weight gain has become a big problem nowadays. Obesity keeps heart diseases and diabetes under control. Fasting improves the metabolism and also reduces excess fat in the body, which results in reduced obesity.

Stomach problems will be removed:

By fasting for one day, you can get relief from all stomach problems. It relieves gas related problems like dysentery, vomiting, constipation, diarrhoea, urinary irritation, acidity. But one thing to keep in mind is to eat less fried things during fasting. During fasting one should eat light and nutritious food.

Improve hormones:

Fasting improves the hormones in the body. Eating too much every day has an adverse effect on hormones. Because of this, diseases like diabetes and blood sugar also get relief. Apart from this, there is also a change in the hormones, which helps in strong built up of the body.

Boosts immunity:

Fasting increases the immune system due to hormonal changes in the body. Eating fruits and light foods while fasting makes them easy to digest, thereby giving the body digestive power and relaxing its muscles for a day. Thus all the muscles of the body relax for a day and boosts immunity system.
